Fazn Studio: editorial brand identity photoshoot
Overview

Fazn had outgrown its original branding. The products had matured, but the visual identity hadn't kept pace, and every new touchpoint (packaging, social, retail) was being designed one-off, without a system holding it together. We were brought in to build a full identity system from the ground up, not just a new logo.

Challenge

The old identity didn't photograph well under real retail lighting, didn't scale down to the small footprint of packaging labels, and gave the sales team little to work with beyond a logo file and a rough color reference. Every new asset was a fresh design decision instead of an application of an existing rule, which meant Fazn's presence looked slightly different everywhere it appeared. Fazn needed a system, not just a mark.

Approach

We started with positioning (who Fazn is for and what it stands for) before touching a single pixel, since a visual system built on the wrong premise just produces a better-looking version of the same problem. From there: a custom color palette built to hold up in both print and screen color profiles, a typography pairing chosen specifically to stay legible at packaging scale, an icon and pattern language that extends the mark without leaning on it every time, and an editorial photography direction (framing, lighting, prop styling) that gives every product shoot a consistent, recognizable feel regardless of who's behind the camera.

Result

A complete brand book the team can hand to any photographer, printer, or partner and get consistent results without a design review. The identity now does the work the old logo alone never could, holding together across packaging, digital, and retail without needing Fazn's team to make a fresh judgment call each time.
